Stanley Park is a 404.9 hectare city park located in Vancouver, bordering the historic center. It was inaugurated in 1888 by Frederick Stanley, 16th Earl of Derby, then Governor General of Canada, and is one of the major tourist attractions in Vancouver. Much of the park consists of a forest with an estimated half a million trees, some of which reach heights of 70 meters and are over a century old.
