Banff National Park is a protected area in Canada established on November 25, 1885, first in Canadian territory. It is one of the protected areas making up the Canadian Rockies park, recognized in 1984 by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Located in the Canadian Rockies within the Canadian province of Alberta, it covers 6641 km² and is characterized by mountainous terrain, with glaciers, coniferous forests and alpine landscapes.
