The Milan Cathedral, dedicated to Santa Maria Nascente, is the most important work of Gothic architecture in Italy. In white marble, the majestic building extends over a length of more than 157 meters and is the fourth largest church in Europe. Light passes through the beautiful stained glass windows and illuminates the interior. The Cathedral was begun in the year 1386 and experimented with numerous architects.
