The Alaska Railroad is Alaska’s main railway line.
Managed by the Alaska Railroad Corporation, the line was built in the early 1900s and serves some of the federal state’s population centers, connecting the cities of Fairbanks and Anchorage from north to south, terminating in Seward on the south coast.
In operation all year round, despite the long winter periods, in summer the railway is also a tourist attraction widely used to visit the vast territory it crosses.
